As part of the Witcombe Stream project, we held a Medieval Fayre on the hilltop of Ham Hill overlooking the Witcombe village. Historical re-enactors, medieval games, food and family fun were all on offer. Information about the stream project was on show.
The day started overcast and very windy, but undeterred the show opened with all the stands and activities ready to go. The re-enactors were Experience the Iron Age, Hounds of Morrigan, Mick Aston’s Young Archeologists, Somerset Medieval Centre, Steam Horse and Simon Waterfield.
There was an archery event, apple bobbing and a “Treasure Hunt” identifying medieval characters and objects and getting a prize for the right answers.
