Following the success of the Woodland Playzone further work is planned. Access to natural outdoor play activities is limited in the area. For those without access, the facilities will be free to use and provide new & improved outdoor education spaces for all local schools & for other groups like the home education network and uniformed groups locally. The new space would also enable a development of forest school and bushcraft sessions.
This supports the government’s 25 Year Environment Plan aim to connect more people with the environment to improve health and wellbeing and encourage them to take action to improve the natural world.
The Friends have won a grant from the Somerset Community Foundation for permanent den building frames, stepping stones to link to the existing facility and a wooden musical instrument.
This project is planned for 2021.
