The Friends of Ham Hill worked in partnership with SSDC on the restoration of the medieval pond and watercourses associated with Witcombe Deserted Medieval Village at Ham Hill.

The old pond was dug out and the piped stream that ran underground through to the very bottom of the valley was brought to the surface. A series of small ponds were dug and, with new marginal planting, fabulous habitats for wildlife were created. Interpretation boards were also installed.

It was funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund.
